[QUOTE=GranPrix,Sep 29 2006, 08:18 AM]..some idiot driving a rice bucket or a car that is obviously below S2000 standards(turbo neon the other day), drives along side you or behind you for about 2-3 miles and when they notice you're about to get off on an exit ramp, then they decide to downshift, take off and get all "bad ass" on you.

I met a kid recently, he told me his turbo neon can hit 12' 1/4mile when turn up his boost to around 19psi +/-, true?
don't know if your talking a srt-4 if so than no. Not with the stock turbo at least. I'm hitting 12.2 but my neon is a 1st gen with lighweight hood, trunk (both sold) and rims at 18 psi. Basically pushing 350 horse and 367 pounds of torque to the wheels. Later.

S2000 x, Sine you know something about the SRT-4 how much boost can the motor take without ping or blowing up?

i will say though, you can easily add horsepower to the dodge and it'll freakin fly. i ran up against a modded srt 4 and he blew my doors off.

I can agree with GranPrix, those cars are fast when modded correctly, its just I don't like the look. I have learned first hand that I need more boost! Damn it!

Also, a lot cheaper to mod...

yep they stop making them. The srt-4 was a limted run from 03-06. The neon is offically dead and the replacement is the calibur. A stock srt-4 motor can take about 500 horse give or take til she blows. Def built strong forged ever thing. I know some kids running 11's with the stock motor just need need to make the car is tune very well. I have gotten my ass handed to me plenty of times in the s by modded ones. Stock ones it's a drivers race losing some and winning some. In my neon I basically destroy them. I acut think they do look badass just wish they made a coupe version. The major trend lately is kids taking the srt-4 motor and tranny and dropping them into the 1st gen couple models. Due to them being arou8nd 500+ pounds lighter they are running mid 13's on the stock boost which is not bad at all consider the stock srt-4 runs low 14's high 13's. Later.
