I was Driving along in my 2000 mitsubishi Eclipse about a year ago on New Yorks Belt PKWY when a stock white stook pulled alongside me. I look at him he looks at me and then I punch it dropping my sporttrinic into 2nd revvin hard at 4000 (hey I thought it was high until I talked to the guy and he showed me his tach) I pulled away and I thought I was pretty fast until I saw the great white pulling even and then pulling away By the way the car was 5 months old and had 15000 miles on it with 18" Ace Monacos Dual Exhaust pipes a K&N Filter and Eibach lowering kit (1 1/4 drop) I wasnt too happy about the loss but I was proud I didnt back down from that great white

 

Ahhhh, the Belt Parkway. Brings back memories. I grew up in Brooklyn and the Belt Parkway was my link to anywhere I wanted to go.

Manhatten- Belt Parkway to Battery Tunnel
Six Flags- Belt Parkway to Verrazano Bridge to NJ Turnpike
Atlantic City- Belt Parkway to Verrazano Bridge to Garden State Parkway
Long Island- Belt Parkway to Southern State Parkway.

P.S. The speed limit on the Belt is 50, you were probably well over the speed limit

 

Yeah I was over the speed limit we were doin like 85-90 (Actually I was doin 85-95 he was doin lik e 105)

I packed up my car(had a Saturn at the time and put one of those roof thingys on it) August 1 1995 and drove out to CA. I lived on E54th Street Between J and K.

I went to Murrow and graduated in 1991.

I am still in high school (yeam i'm a youngen) But i do know people that graduated from Murrow around the same time as you. Do you know who Danielle Tricomi is. Do you go back to visit? I went over there this Christmas cause ALL of my family is still out there...i guess my parents moved me over here for a better life an all that.. so far soo good, i got an s2k .. so you used to live right by Gill Hodgers Lanes.. ??

I still live here in New York and I have to drive my stook on the Belt almost everyday!

 

HAHAHA, I used to Bowl there all the time. I used to work there when I was younger and help the kids out and they would pay me in free bowling. It was pretty sweet. I don't know Danielle Tricomi. I try to go back as often as I can, but it is usually only twice a year, for a weekend at most. The last two times I've been back was for weddings. I still love NY and miss Brooklyn and the city a lot. I don't miss the cold winters and the humid summers though.
