Default Impala SS -vs- S2K

I have a friend that has a 96' Impala SS and he's always talking trash how he can destroy me. I know he has 250hp but I also know that his car is absolutely huge and must out-weight me by at least 500lbs. What do you guys think? Has anyone screwed with one of these cars? I know you can mod up the Impala but both of our cars at stock. If I go with this guy, I wanna WIN!!!! or I'll be

Thanks

I have easily killed two with the MR2. I looked up their 1/4 times awhile back and I think it was 15.3 - 15.6 or so.

Hey bud what's up!

practice launching your S first .My best launches come from dropping the clutch around 7000rpm.yes you will spin the tires but you will quickly make up for it.If you don't spin the tire the car drop under vtec and you wont pull on him till you get the rpm back up.

If they are a 15.3 to 15.6 car than you have nothing to worry about you could leave the line normal and still take him.But if you want to shut him up launch it.If you want I'll come down and show him what's up!

You'll beat him no problem. Just make sure he doesn't have any nitrous.

You should be able to beat him from a stop even if you don't launch... you'd be passing him by 60mph fairly easily.

Or go from a roll, and you'll walk him all the way home.

I've messed with this car on the highway in both S2000 and E36 M3. In both cases I was surprised that it took a second or two to make up for them getting the jump on me (at around 65-70 MPH is where it started in both cases) but in both cars and both cases I started creaping pretty quick (around 80 - 85) and by 100 usually I was pulling so had it wasn't funny. I don't think you'll have a problem at all.

Almost forgot to ask. Are those things slushboxes or stick? Is there an option?

I've seen a couple that might do terrible things to a stock S2k, but if he's stock, you should beat him easily.
