inlinepro s2000 vs. c5 zo6 w/ bolt ons
i was on my way home from a night out when i pull up next to a blue c5 zo6 with aftermarket wheels and a younger guy driving. i was actually going to switch to another road but i figured he might want to play so i changed my route a little.....
after we travel a few miles he pulls up and says " let get on the interstate". so im like, "yea, lets". so we get on the interstate and do 2 runs, both 2nd gear starts around 30 mph. the first run i get him by about 2-3 cars, most of the pull coming from my 3rd gear. the second run he stuck in a little better and i only got him by about 1-2 cars.
we pull off and start discussing... turns out he had intake, exhaust and a tune. he said the only reason he wanted to run was because he smelled race fuel in my exhaust.... i guess i have some residual because i have gone through probably 2 tanks of 93 since i ran the 110...

depending on the model year, the C5 Z06 made either 385bhp (~330whp) or 405bhp (~345whp). intake, exhaust, and a tune will put them around the 400whp mark easily. so the fact that you pulled like you did on a car that's making very similar power and only weighs 200-lbs more than you is amazing - especially since you went from a roll not a dig. since you started both races the same exact way and got different outcomes, i suspect that, with a little more practice, the Vette owner would be neck-n-neck with you.
nevertheless, nice kill. and way to represent the turbo S2K crowd.
