Interesting encounter with an Rx-7
... Short story: From 40-80, he pulled about .5 cars length, from 80-105, I had made up more than 1 car length... from 105-120, I was rolling.
Very fast 0-60, fast 60-80, 80+ well... I love the way they look in my taillights..
Ohh, and BTW-- he was DEFINATELY gettin' on it...cuz we was still blowing black-smoke at 105.

Yes.. its was prolly at 1997... one of the latest ones. Definately fast on the bottom, and I've found this to be true time and time again, once the S2K hits ~90...we freaking fly... (or others just poop-out, however u wanna look at it).

I drove a S2000 the other day to see what the hype was. Nice car - fun to drive and handled very well - can't hold a candle to a properly running 3rd gen RX7 even stock. i thought there is supposed to be a "kick in the butt" in the 6-9K vtec range - very dissappointed - just another n/a car. For 240 hp, the stook uses all of it in an awesome way - especially around the turns. Unfortunately, it's tough to find an RX7 that's running right. I had my RX7 for a year and was losing boost bad through a torn intercooler hose. I lost a lot of races that year that I should have won. When I got it fixed - night and day. There's no way you could 'walk' or even stay with a RX7 TT at 90+ I've driven both cars stock and although the S2K is impressive - it can't be run with a RX7. You picked on a bad egg
- I'll show you what my tailights look like if you want

stock for stock...it'll be up to the driver
if you look at 0-60 and 1/4 stats the s2000 is the same with a give or take 1tenth. and considering you get that rush of the turbo with the rx-7 and supra you would expect them to be faster. slap a speedcraft turbo running 6psi you have a car better than the supra and the Rx-7 with better handling on top of that. dont get me wrong the the supra and Rx-7 are great cars but stock vs. stock these cars are right up there with eachother. the supra and Rx-7 just have the advantage of the turbo.

Do it before you say it, please. He said stock vs stock, right.
Maybe you did not race S2000 against RX-7. Just because S2000 does not have impressive torque does not mean the car will lose against Supra and RX-7 every time on the street.
I have done it so many times on the street.
I have a friend who owns RX-7.
For stock Vs stock, it's pretty much even. It totally depends on who launches first.
Nice fast car, but you don't realize so many problems of RX-7 unless you own it.
P.S. Forget about those .1, .2 seconds time for 1/4 mile.
