Default Interesting Results

Saw a rather poor, but interesting video.

The Contestants:

420 RWHP Terminator Cobra

470 RWHP GT500

Results:

Terminator walks on the GT500 pretty hard from roll or dig.

I started doing some calculations (03/04 at 3400, GT at 3800) and unless I missed something the the hp/weight ratio is pretty close, assuming everyone is telling the truth about hp. I'm thinking this should have been a drivers race, but ??

I'll see if I can find the video again and link to it, but it was not much to look at.

just the 50 added horses should let the GT500 walk from a roll, but the aero of the 05+ Mustangs is piss poor, while the 99-04 models are actually pretty sleek. When they were rolled out as ALMS cars, there was a Speed channel show on them, and that was one of the issues they covered. After a hood or two was torn off the new cars, they went all-out trying to find ways within the rules to streamline and keep air out of the engine bay. In the words of one of the drivers, the new design is a cinderblock compared to the old models aerodynamically.

Shelby with 470rwhp VS a midly modded Terminator...420rwhp.

From a Dig...or pretty much a dig.

That's why peak hp numbers sometimes don't amount to a hill of beans.

Actually I dont think the Cobras are that heavy, the convert yeah but not coupes. Its not a surprise though thats the terminators with a few bolt ons are beating them.

Last weight I saw on an 03/04 Cobra put the coupe at just a little over 3,600.

With a supercharged 5.4 vs a supercharged 4.6, the curves should look very similar. If anything the 5.4 should have a little fatter torque curve.
