Why is it that on the IS300 forum if someone mentions he beats an IS300 with a faster stock car like S2000, 350Z, Z4, G35, etc, someone always jumps out and defends the IS300 by saying "well if I supercharge/turbocharge the IS300 then you'll get killed."

Isn't that kind of pointless? Shouldn't a supercharged S2000,350Z, etc, also going to be faster than a supercharged IS300?

To me if a car needs to be supercharged in order to beat another stock car, it just has "slow car" written all over itself.

I believe they say that because, correct me if I am wrong, the IS300 engine is essentially the same engine toyota used in the Supra. So, in other words it can hold a metric ton of boost compared to other cars.

I could be wrong though.

 

Yes, no S2000, 350Z, Z4, etc. could come close to an IS300 when it comes to modding and boosting.

 

Not saying the S2000 is a slow car, but relative to a C6, yes S2000's slow(er). In my opinion, all of those car I mentioned in the 1st post aren't that fast cars compared to what's out there.

An E46 M3 would beat my Z4 pretty badly, but if I were to say "well after I supercharge it, it'll be faster than an M3," well, DUH! Just pointing out that comments like this are pretty pointless. Someone can supercharge an M3, and again beat the supercharged Z4.

And I think just because the IS300 uses the same engine as Supras, they're over-using the supercharging/turbo-charging as their defense after a loss.

 

Well, the IS300 is weak for today's market. But the new IS350 is coming out soon, at least that's what I've read.

 

Some clown was in one the other day and kept pacing next to me around 60 mph...would jump on it....get next to me....jump on it....get next to me....you get the point.

I left the dude like he hit the emergency brake....guess he thought..."look, a sporty truck...gonna mess with this guy".

Well, he was introduced to a mid 12 second Lightning I don't know what they run...but I smoked him worse than my wife's V6 Mustang when I fool around with her on the highway.

Thought I would share...nice looking car though...good stance.

 

I think they're like high 14-mid 15 second cars if I'm not mistaken. They look nice, just not my cup of tea. People from all class of cars will make excuses like this on occasion, true or not, run what you brung and if you wanna make excuses cause you aint brung enough then you shouldnta run, thats how I see it.

 

Most of us IS300 owners know that our car is not fast. I love the car though. Fast or not, its still fun to drive. It will have to do until I can add a nice used S2k to the garage.

 

i have a friend with a v6 tiburon who kept saying you wont beat me when i get my supercharger and when he got it i beat him still so just cause you get forced induction dont mean your gonna walk any car you couldnt beat before
