Default Jet powered rail car

I went to the track on friday night... got some shitty runs... you can see results here... https://www.s2ki.com/forums/showthread.php?...&threadid=66023

Anyways..
There was some guy that had recently purchased a rail car that was powered by a jet engine. It basically looked like a jet engine with wheels and a bis spoiler. The guy was running just to get used to it, since it was his first time driving it. Basically the jet pushes the car... there are no drive wheels. He would not run full power since he was getting used to it.

He'd come up to the line (no one was allowed to run against him for safety reasons) and that jet would scream. Then he'd hit afterburner and a 15 foot flame would shoot out the back. The announcer said the engine was 5,000hp at full throttle, 7,000hp with afterburner on.

Crank up the jet engine and release the brakes. WHOOOOSH. Down the track in 7.xx seconds@190mph or so. Dayum.... I got it on video if anyone would like to see it. post and let me know.

From what I understand, the car will eventually be able to go 2.xx-4.xx 1/4 mile ET's, once he runs it full power. (just imagine, you are getting your 2.0 second 60' time and this guy is already finishing)

I don't know if that's necessarily true though.....

For example, that night there were these mini rail cars that would go 10.5 second 1/4 miles, but an ET of only like 80mph. So he may not have to hit 0-600mph to get a 3.00 ET. I'm sure the G's will be a lot, but hell, some roller coasters go 4-5 G's, and what do astronauts have to take? fighter pilots??

I may not be able to give you exact figures, but I know they were saying it could do those ET's.

I know 9 g's is alot, but what do astronauts or figher pilots have to endure. Don't some people have higher tolerances than others to G-forces before passing out??

So is it possible the same suit-type setup could be used in his car?

Geeze, and would this guy even be able to stop this "vehicle" once he takes it faster?
