i was curous if there are any of you guys that passed up a race, or didnt really try with and are now kicking yourself over it because now you want to know what the outcome would have been.....

example..when i lived in arizona i was on the freeway with a carerra, new body style and i gave him thumbs up and everything then proceeded to pace him, didnt rev or anything but was seein if hed go for it...
and..............he did..we were on the freeway and i was doin about 70 in 5th...when he took off i just dropped to 4th and was about 1 car behind him....but then he started swerving throught the LITTLE bit of traffic there was and was off..i stopped at the traffic..

the part i want to kick myself over is that i didnt shift to 3rd...grr....i always think back on that and wonder the outcome..he wasnt pulling real hard or anything for me being in 4th though, so im sure i could have taken him by goin to 3rd...hmm...just never know though..

If you were new to the car and didn't know that at the time, probably safer you didn't push the car....

Unless it was a cabriolet... he would have beaten you regardless, so wonder no more. Start modding and that's a different story.

You were talking about the 996 911, right? The new 997 Carrera S is SERIOUSLY fast... anyway, it's not really a race.

He probably wasn't going WOT, anyway. Don't fool yourself.

You would have had a decent shot at him. The auto verts are pretty damn heavy. I drove a freinds C4 auto, it was a slug.

 

Sorry, wasn't even looking at the handle. Supercharged S is fairly even with some 996s. Esp 1999-2002 996s.
