Not a racer but have had some fun on the highways with other cars while cruising in the s2k. I love it that people are into their cars (whatever they are) and will give them a thumbs, smile, sweet car, etc. which is generally reciprocated.

I usually don't bother doing anything with the jerks who are angry about my car of choice (whatever they're driving) but chuckle to myself and think, "whatever". It's amazing who tries to race us when we're just out enjoying the day on a drive.

I did hand a land rover his ass once though but embarrisingly only admit it because the guy was revving on me like crazy at a light. The light turned green and he punches it. My girlfriend looks at me and shouts, "VTEC!!!".

I swear we could still hear it revving even though it was no longer in rear sights.

Don't those things weigh like 8 million pounds???

Sometimes the civic guys don't know when it is over however. Once or twice I've sped up or slowed down after to get away, exited the freeway and just put some space between us. First time - del sol with the loudest exhaust ever! Guy had been easily beat but kept coming up next to me and my girlfriend in the car - she was getting scared by him and his looks, so I just put some distance between us(with her permission) and exited the freeway. Just last week with what I believe was a modded civic with dual exhaust - Raced up to 95 or so, was winning so didn't accelerate into 4th - he made a lot of risky lane changes, had blue smoke coming from his exhaust when downshifting to slow down and avoid rear ending people, so I just exited the freeway. I'm not going to drive like an idiot.

I think there are too many inconsiderate drivers out there that thinks that they're invinsable. I see people dangerously cutting off others, over-taking on a blind hill not knowing there is a car approaching, or just other dangerous actions that take place on the road. This not only puts these drivers in danger, but the other drivers around them as well.

I myself loves to speed and drive hard, but there's a certain point where there is a limit. I do admit that when I pass cars, that it probably scares others, but atleast I don't cut them off, or pass on the shoulders of the lane, or even pass even when I see a car approaching from the other lane at a close distance.

Don't drive stupid and take chances, Drive hard but Smart!

i think the etiquette is all about respecting the other driver and enjoying the race for what it is....win or lose it's not the end of the world
