launching
does the car do any sliding left or right when you do a 5500 RPM launch?!?
i did one the other day at 3500 and the rear started sliding to the right a bit.. makes me a lil nervous since there were cars next to me.

ya you just have to learn to correct this with youre steering.
After a while you will just get a feel to how your car will react and correct it before it really even gets away.
just alot of practice I guess, you will get it.

It is usually better for acceleration AND the differential to launch past Vtec around 7000rpm.
1) you stay above the Vtec point and car will go faster
2) you usually spin the wheels a bit and that takes away the stress from your driveline
I launched my S2000 at 7k-7500rpm several times w/o any breakage.

i havent done it personally but i have a question.. Does the s2k have good control when you launch it? what i mean is, at what RPM level is it safe to do without the risk of spinning out. i saw a vid of a camaro ss street draggin a 350 and the camaro stalled at the line
and he started it up quick and quicky dumped the clutch. he go the wheel spinning 2 much and went sideways into the crowd (which was lining the street=stupid
again) I just wonder if you were to lauch at high RPMS with stock tires, if the rear end would start to slip. o by the way im 15 yrs old and i only talk cause my dads not into the forum stuff so sry if this question seems dumb.

yes depending on the conditions, it can spin out of control
especially if there is patch of water or if its cold outside
dont dump the clutch if you arent prepared for its spinning. If you want to try something safer, take it to 5000rpm and slip the clutch.

when you first start to do this it would not be smart to do it around large groups of peaple.
find a parking lot and practice car control by youself, and it is a good idea to take a track driving school course.
I don't car who you are, there is somthing to be learned by everyone at these courses.(and they really are alot of fun)
I think everyone should take the course.
just my 2 cents!!! he he he
