Default Lost to a lotus :/

Welp, raced my buddies lotus elise supercharge couple days ago....

We lined up from a roll. On the third beep we took off and he started to pull on me throughout second. In third I started to gain some ground back, then in fourth I was coming on strong but he let off. I'm confident I would have caught him if we kept going, but in the end, the AP2 lost by a hair

Gotta hand it to the elise though. It's lighter then our cars, and it has less HP, but it is one quick car!

The first vid we both let off because of the valentine1 going off..

Hopefully the videos work....not sure if they will.

The Elise is a faster car, no matter if it is supercharged or N/A when compared to an S.

Not bad...definitely looks like you would have caught him up top. And since your top was down there may have been a few tenths of a second you lost. Either way, not a bad car to lose to.

Yeah I mean, I wasn't too disappointed. I know the lotus is a great car. W/ the supercharge stock, I think it has 218hp. But he has a few bolt-ons here and there.

Plus I think he weights like 2k lbs? Pretty freakin' light.

He still admits that he was caught off guard with how quick the S was though!

I'm still proud of my N/A S

People beat faster cars in races all the time.

In the case of the Elise, the N/A versions make ~190 hp. But they weigh 800 lbs. less than an S2000. The Elise runs the 1/4 mile almost a full second quicker and several miles an hour faster than the S2000. The factory supercharged version only gains ~30 hp, but in a car that light it's good for a few more tenths of a second off the 1/4 mile time.

Either way, the N/A Elise is faster than the S2000 by a pretty solid margin. The supercharged version is faster yet.

That doesn't mean it'll always win. Any car can lose a race if the driver isn't capable. Doesn't make the car slow. It's silly to make blanket assumptions about a car based on casual stoplight races.

The Elise is faster. I owned an S2000 and an Elise at the same time. However, the two cars are very similar and if you are caught out of the power band in a race, you'll be in trouble. Due to the weight of the Elise, it recovers from that problem much much quicker. I haven't owned my S for a couple years now and I just drove a S about a month ago. Still a good car, but I forgot how frustrating the car is below 6K RPMs. Still enjoy the transmission, but no longer enjoyed the car.
