Default Me vs the world

I went out to the local car meet last night. We ended up going out for a cruise and along the way got in a few friendly runs.

Right after rolling out of the parking lot I ended up next to a FD RX7. We made a turn and both punched it probably around 30mph in 2nd gear. Definitely out of the powerband, but it was a spur of the moment kind of thing and I definitely wasn't going to try downshifting to 1st at 30 coming out of a turn. He pulled a fender on me at first, then I started inching my way back. He shifted and I gained a little more. Ended up taking it up to around 100 and he was at my back bumper.

The group got separated a little bit by traffic lights. I ended up coming up catching up to a LS2 GTO with exhaust. We had a nice long straitaway with no cars in front of us. I've been dying to run one for the longest time so I toyed with him a little bit. He took the bait and we lined up. I honked it off and immediately started to pull him. I was blown away, I thought he'd missed a shift or something. We lined it up again, same result. Absolute distruction, probably a bus length from 40 to 90. I thought they were way faster than that. We met up at a parking lot a few miles down the road, I was walking up to talk to him and I hear him telling another guy, "I just got DESTROYED by an S2000!" He sees me walking up and I get the "What the hell did you to do that thing?" question.

A little while later we all stop by a gas station to fill up and a M5 pulls into the parking lot. The passenger gets out, goes in and buys a drink. Passenger gets in the car, the driver revs, then speeds out of the parking lot. Our group of cars leaves a minute or 2 later. We end up catching the guy, a few of the slower cars are leading the way and they move aside and waive me up next to the M. I pull alongside and the guy revs at me. I downshift and he does too. We both punch it at the same time, but he lets off right away. I try a few more times, the guy will lunge forward, then back off, but refused to actually race.

As we're heading home on the interstate I get in a couple more runs. Both from 45ish, against a couple subbys. The first was a 99 (I think) Impreza RS swapped with a complete 04 Sti motor and drivetrain + exhaust. The 2nd was a 07ish Sti with catback, intake, and a tune. Both runs were about the same, I pulled on them pretty good, it's hard to say how much though, I was having fun with it and just stayed in the gas til I ran out of 5th gear long after they'd backed off. I talked to the Sti guy later and he said he hit the limiter at the top of 2nd so I promised him a rematch another day.

It was an awesome night, some fun runs and killed some nice cars.

325 to the wheels in a 2850 lb car can be pretty formidable from a roll, so I'm not suprised you beat a Stage 2 '07 STi (which usually puts down about 290-300, and weighs about 3,300). However, the EJ25 swapped RS should have given you a really good run unless he left everything stock during the swap.

Nice kills.

The swapped RS is gutted, no backseats and nothing in the trunk. He's got a downpipe back (I guess that's what it'd be called? testpipe + catback), but is otherwise stock powerwise. It's a sweet car, definitely feels faster than mine with the torque/shorter gearing.

I've got an AP2 pulley, good for 6-7psi on a AP1. Then the normal bolton stuff; a comptech exhaust, testpipe, intake manifold gasket, and a vafc.

Ohhh, and stickers!! I've got stickers for the st pete honda grand prix all over my car. +50hp https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=576753

One of the guys put up a video. You can see some of the fun...

Guess I'll have to explain the beginning of the video. We were hanging out in a parking lot and like 4-5 guys in riced out civics and a V6 auto mustang with no exhaust and strobe lights kept driving around us, revving and doing burnouts with music blaring. Once they finally stopped some guys decided to mock their stupidity and that's why the guys in the GLI are driving around blaring Tokyo Drift music, doing burnouts, while wearing helmets and hanging out of the sunroof. We're not retarded (at least not that I'm aware of).
