Careful guys...Bassmaster is very much able to put his money where his mouth is. One of the fastest cars I ever rode in was a turbo Miata running 12 psi. Zoom zoom indeed.

Keep in mind there have been a ton of Miatas produced and they have aftermarket parts for real cheap. You can get a Miata that can outrun a S2000 real easy with just 3 - 4 k in mods.

However it is still a Miata and not as much fun as the s2k.

But, in reply to the first post. The "zoom zoom" badge is aftermarket (maybe from the dealer) and is as stupid and usless as any aftermarket badge or decal (unless you are trying to promote your business). And I agree, stock miata v stock s2000 is no contest. I own one of each and while the miata does have "zoom zoom" the S2000 has "ZOOOOM ZOOOOM"!

Dean 29 lets get together sometimes and cruise around...Im in Gboro area all the time. Sometimes hang around Cars Italia(porsche modona,M,lotus dealer off of Wendover Ave.) A friend of mine works there and rags the other salesman about how my car will knock off most of there exotics anyday.

That dyno graph is Ric Stevens miata aka the" minimonster"..daily driver that runs 7.0's in the 1/8 and 10.98 1/4 @ 125 mph...stock motor.

My car is not nearly as strong but runs 8.1's 1/8th & 12's in the 1/4...A new viper couldnt better my times 2 weeks ago at the import shoot out. he was running 13.0's and 12.9's in 80 degree weather..... on the way home I got 30 mpg.

'its still a Miata?...go to BMW,Porsche and other boards...and its still a" Honda'

Bass don't take that peronsally. I am on a S2000 board and you know I have a personal preference for this car. I gave credit to the Miata especially with all the aftermarket mods.

I like the styling and handling of S2000 better and the fact that there are not that many made.

Let me know when you are in Greensboro sometime. I would like to take a ride in your miata. It sounds real impressive.

"Zoom Zoom"
It's a commercial campaign... the fact that all you guys know it's
Mazda means that it is a successful one.

I do not remember any slogan from Honda.

JT-KGY,

Actually, I didn't know it was a Mazda slogan. The only Mazda that's ever even interested me was the RX-7, and it's not being made anymore. The new RX-8 looks just like the S2000, which I already own.

All I know about "zoom zoom" is that I really hate that song, and I REALLY hate that friggin kid that whispers "zoom zoom". I always caught the last ten seconds of those commercials, and always wanted to smack the crap out of that child.

Knowing that it's a Mazda slogan just makes me hate it even more.

(whispers) "zoom z--" *thwap* (screams) "DADDY!"
