Default 'Miata' "vs" Solstice

It's one of these Monday mornings... fortunately it is sunny and as I enter and open the garage, make a split second decision to take the S instead of the company provided G35. No customers to take to lunch today, so it's ME only day to the office. While standing in front of the car I enjoy the spring cleaning I had performed to it the day before and get a quick flash-back of the reasons for having bought the S, proceed to get in, start, warm-up while selecting a cd tune to compliment the drive and subsequently I'm off to work.
The thought :Ah! what bliss to be driving a machine with such racing heritage and development (to work) goes through my mind as I go through the gears

So, after several intersections on the way to the job, this guy in a metallic blue Solstice pulls up on my right side. We're both 1st in line at the light. It's a fairly long stop light. Through the corner view of my eye I see the guy keeps looking over...ok. I make a quick stereo adjustment and glance over...he's got his top down( 45 degrees ) and motions for me to lower my passenger side window as if he wants to say something. With my window down he continues his motion and tells me in one string...
Solstice driver:"I have not seen one in a while! Did you do anything to it? It's a nice Miata!"
Me: "Yeah, Thanks. I like it too." (giving him a nod and a grin at the same time)
Solstice driver: (revs his engine twice) and says: "Wanna go?!"
Me: "Sure." (thinking after graciously accepting this "challenge".. to give, or not to give, a head-start to this f@@l? )

Light turns green. We go and as you could imagine, WE quickly separates into individual S2000 and Solstice 4+ bus lenghts behind . Probably thinking: That's a fast Miata!
After having re-acquired my composure with which I had left my home minutes earlier and moving the stereo volume back up; I could not prevent myself from saying out loud: HONDA S2000 bi@tch!

Just an encounter. Have a nice day

Thats great. I used to get mad and defensive when people mistaken the S for a Miata but now it doesn't bother me. Great story! thanks for the laugh...

If I see him again I'll let him try again Or maybe he will have done his homework by then and thereby not obligate me to waste my premium gas

forgot to mention this happened in the Detroit area. Alot less imports here from what I have seen compared to other states(even less so in cold seasons).

See the Miata in my signature below? People confuse it and my car all the time, and they are NOT EVEN THE SAME COLOR!

Do they actually look alike to anyone here?
You know, I never even noticed. They actually do look a little alike from the front.
