Default Modded 04 vs. 01

MY04(driver & passenger/top up) vs my friends 01(driver & passenger/hard top)

45-50 kick all the way up to about 100...

i started in 3rd and he started in 2nd. we were even for about 3 seconds, then I started pulling gradually up to 100 and then we let off the gas. I was about a car and a half ahead when I let off.

04 - dc ss header, aem v2 intake, catback exhaust, apexi vafc (vtec @5700), neuspeed springs

01 - hardtop, comptech adjustable springs, dc ss header

or it might be the intake, exhaust, vafc

or it might be the difference in weights of the occupants

cant really tell

Extra weight of the hard top too... Mods on the 04. I personally would be mucho disappointed that I wasn't a few more cars ahead.

Those mods did help, but you forgot that he started in 3rd gear, which was not good for racing from that low speed.

well, the hard top is not going to make a difference since my passenger weighed about 100 more pounds than his passenger which was his girlfriend... so the weight most likely evened out.

cars ahead???? i'm not supercharged. intake, headers, exhaust and vafc do help, but those simple bolt-ons don't take off multiple car lengths...

I have seen dyno sheets and some did show loss in power, but some showed some gains and some showed nothing, so I guess ya never know...

remember 04's redline @ 8000, I couldn't start in 2nd @50 mph. if I started in 2nd, as soon as I hit the gas I would have had to shift into 3rd, thats why I started in 3rd. I did however downshift to 2nd, and saw that i was sitting very close to redline @ 50 so i chose 3rd.
I had a 2000 s2k before this one. I think that is pretty good if he started off in 2nd and i started in 3rd...
