Default modded a4 1.8t vs. my04 S

There's a guy in school with a modded a4 1.8t quattro. He has chip, downpipe, no cat, exhaust and suspension mod. I'm stock...and we were both wondering who will win the race? He told me his torque went up 70lbs (assuming at the crank). Did anyone have a similar encounter?

My money's on your S2000 for sure. I was looking at the A4 recently, and they aren't very fast stock.

I have no personal experienced with modified ones, and have heard that the chip gives pretty good gains. But I still can't imagine those gains covering the big gap between how fast the two cars are when stock.

The older B5 chassis A4 1.8t's weigh about the same as the s2k and only output 150hp\155tq at the crank. The newer style B6 chassis weighs 3406 lbs and outputs 170hp/166tq to the crank. It's hard to estimate what those 1.8ts are going to put down since chips and exhaust do so much for FI cars. Even if he is equal with you in power doesn't mean his gearing and driving skill will be able to keep up with you in the S. Race and find out, just dont talk shit til afterwards.

He should be pushing about 190whp and around 250WTQ out of his 1.8T granted its a REVO or upsolute chip. (My friend ran a 13.8@103 (2.2 60ft) in his jetta MY04 Manual with Revo 1.2bar chip/downpipe and exhaust. The Jetta weights in at 2974lbs. A new Audi A4 AWD manual MY2004 is 3406lbs so its going to be pretty slow unless its a older 2877lbs FWD model manual (pre 2002) and then I think it will be a close race.

P.S. The new 1.8t (2002-present) and old 1.8T(pre 2001) have the same engine are the same the only diffrence is in factory HP is the boost pressure and with a chip this doesnt matter and both make around 190whp with chip/DP/Exhaust.

His car is a B6 with REVO upgrade...so I guess I'm faster since his car is pretty heavy.

u will def win. B6 stage 2(chip+full exhaust) are pretty sloooow.

I had two B5 stage 2 (FWD,and AWD).
Best time for stage 2 B5 stage 2 cars were low-mid 14sec.

With heavier body...with smaller injector(lower torque compare to B5 when chipped), B6 is SLOOOWER
