First, let me preface my story by saying I have a tremendous amount of respect for the S2000. I have admited them since before they were introduced, and would probably be driving one now if I had the funds at the time of my last car purchase. And now, my encounter...(copied directly from post made on ClubRSX about it)

"So I'm coming home this evening on the interstate, when I see some HIDs come around the on ramp right beside me. Lo and behold, it's an S2000! He accelerates moderately, and gets behind me while I'm going about 70mph at the time. I proceed to drop into 3rd and gun it to see if he wants to have a run. Nada. Zip.

So, disappointed I signal and turn right to get off on my exit. (If he had wanted to run, I would have just gone past my exit and come back). To my surprise, he also gets off on my exit. And we are both turning right at the light at the top of the exit ramp. SWEET. Nobody is around. I roll up to the light and let him catch up. We both turn and roll off slowly and hit it at the same time as he's right on my ass. I pull ever so slightly through first, bark my tires shifting into 2nd at 8600 and keep pulling ever so slightly. The road is slightly inclined, and slightly curving. So, I take it to about 80 MPH and then shut down. By that time, the S2000 was about 1 carlength back. SWEET!

The bad news was that my turn to my apartment complex is now about 200 yards up on my left. So I'm not about to slam on the brakes and turn in. So I just go past to turn around. But the S2000 turns into my place! So I turn around, and go hunt him down. He's really cool about everything, and we talk about our cars for a bit. Oh, he was stock, and the top was up."

I know he posts here, but I'm unsure of his user name. This will probably bring him out.

Edit: And yes this is my first post here. I come here to read from time to time, but never had a need to post until now.

13.977 @ 100.64 on 06/22/03 (HOT!)

If you really ran a 13.977, then that is very possible that you beat the S...That time looks pretty good for the mods you listed, but i don't doubt it! Good kill!

I always wondered though, I put down alot more power in my car than an RSX, and a type S for that, and I can never chirp my tires on 1st to 2nd! I guess its the mid engine placement or the 275 tires in the back...but I guess thats a good thing since chirping=losing traction=slower.

Yeah but if your nsx were like say, a 500hp nsx, it'd churp the tires and surely be faster ;D

The reason you can chirp your camry is shitty tyres. I know Id rather be keeping traction throughout all the changes then chipping.

As for chirping all the time I dont know how the roads are over there but I have to give a good hard shift to chirp second and Ive only done it a couple of times because of the damage that its doing the drive-train.
