Well i was on the way back from pomona on the 91 west. Going through a pretty empty freeway at 12 at around 90 mph. Saw what looked like a new mustang so i decide to catch up and get on his side. It was a new model silver GT. When i got there he was already pacing me so i downshifted to 4th, he hit it so i followed after. 1st run i let off around 115? he was in front but no idea how much because it was a turn with a car a head. 2nd run was from 80-130 and he was about 2 cars ahead. those GT"s are pretty fast for my stock s2000. What do you guys think? expected outcome or no?

OH and by the way.. Who drives a red s2000 in fullerton? I was in the white in burning tree.. just wanted to say wsup for a fellow s2k in the neighborhood.

 

I duno. I'm guessing he was modded. Did it sound stock?

 

I have ran an 05 gt (new style) from a stoplight before and beat him by about 2 cars. I dunno if he was the greatest driver though because he asked if my car was "strick shift" at the next light.... But it looked like he launched well enough

 

Well, I'm stock and I would say that i'm not a SLOW shifter. But it sounded like he might have had an exhaust. It was the new style GT. With the mods that kayvan has and he beat him only by 2 cars, then i guess it's ok that i lost by 2 cars haha..

 

i have also had this run in. i ran door to door with a new(05) GT on the hwy, he had borla pipes. 04 and older GTs, its not much of a race. cobra's on the other hand......let just say i mind my own biz and hope they dont see me!

 

yeah.. those new GT's are a lot faster then i thought they would be.

 

new ones = 300 hp

 

new one also=heavier.

 

I've only run one new one. Dead eaven the whole way.

 

heavier than the old mustang gt?

arent the old ones like 260hp/300tq - 3400~lbs

what are the new ones?
