My favorite kill ever!
At a stop light minding my own business, light turns green and the car to my right takes off. As it gets in front of me I notice its a 97/04 vette (non z06) having only raced and beat a early 90's vette and being late to work I say screw I'll try to keep up. He slow's and when I reach his rear bumber he jumps on the throttle.
Must have been around 20 mph and by the time I hit eighty I was up 1- 1 1/2 cars.
He slammed on his brakes and made a right. I continued happily on my way to work.
My mods are only hks catback and around 100 lbs of weight reduction.
Vette was stock and probably an automatic or poorly driven 6 speed.
p.s. I was just thinking of selling my car for an 01/02 z06

Poorly driven M6 launching in the wrong gear is my guess.
PS. How do you know it was a 99-00? 97-04 all look the same to me...

I love both of them, but the Z06 is a whole 'nother animal. Low 12's off the showroom floor, almost 30mpg, and pulling upwards of 1G on the skidpad...

p.s.s. Z06 > s2k but for the money I'll keep my S and turbocharge it. I didn't mean to imply that my S is better then a z06.

S2k>C5 Z06 IMO
raw numbers are half the story. There is something to be said for driver involvement and feedback. This is the reason why cars such as the Miata are highly successful despite their modest power. These cars communicate to the driver and offer an experience that few others can.
But I digress. Don't want to turn this into a Z06 vs. * argument. To the OP: good kill.
