My first Kill
Actually it really isn't a kill, but I was out tonight, with the top down, the air was cool, just a perfect night.
I am stopped at a light, with a blue 2001 civic, with a fancy exhaust. He reved his engine, then I did as well. I was ready to go when the light turned green. Anyways, off we went, had a jump on him right away, The next thing he shfited and his tires skwakked (sp) I hadn't shifted yet.. then my radar detector went off, I let off the gas, slowly shifted in to 2nd, and then to 3rd. The punks were well ahead of me by now, with the boys in blue right behind them.
The were sitting off the side of the road. I had to stop at the next light, and on the other side of the set of lights the police had them pulled over. I took off from the light drove slowly by them, and waved with a big smile on my face.. The morale of the story, don't street race and keep the radar on
I am actually very chicken to do this kind of stuff, because you can get a ticket or worse they will seize your car right away..

What type of radar detector do you have?
Where do you live?
How far did the detector go off before seeing the cop?
I'd REALLY like to know, thanks HondaGal.

I have a cheapy bell laser detector. Nothing special
Regina, Canada, population 180,000 people. The detector picked the police off only 2.5 blocks or so away.. They must have come off from a side parking lot approach or were sitting in front of another vehicle. It saved me that is forsure, because I would have kept going with the other car. I am very bad One thing you should know, the street lights are fairly close together, and so, if I would have kept going with the other car, the max I would have gotten to is 2nd gear and then have to brake for the next set of lights or as they did go thru the lights (I believe it was amber). The civic just got ahead of me because I jammed and he made it through the next light. I was on the inside lane with cars parked on the right hand side. The civic did not have a radar detector, and blew by the police, so they busted him right away.
