MY00 vs. 95 Eclipse GST w/Ugraded Turbo & Built Motor
I was just chillin with all my friends the other night, and my friend Brandon that has an Eclipse GST was up there. Me and him have know eachother for about 2 years or so.
When he first moved to where I live, he had a 3 in. exhaust, intake, upgraded downpipe, and a boost controller. I raced him then and I pulled about 2 cars from 90 to 130 and my s was completely stock.
Since then, he has had his motor rebuilt with hks cams,valve springs, retainers, first gen rods, some type of pistons that I don't know, micro-polished and balance crank, port and polish, 3 angle valve job,750cc injectors. He also has an 18g Killer Bee turbo with clipped turbines and a Quaife(I don't know how to spell that) LSD. His motor now can hold up to 24 psi, but he was running 15psi when we raced this time.
Anyways, I raced him again the other night on the interstate. We raced four times, and it was like around midnight.
1st race was from 2nd gear at 50-115. I ate him alive in second gear until his turbo spooled up. I was like 3/4 car lengths ahead when he hit full spool. He kept gaining and when we hit about 95, he started pulling pretty hard. We let off at 115 and he was about 1 & 1/2 car lengths ahead of me.
2nd race- 3rd gear from 70-125. He won by about a car.
We got off at the next exit and turned around and got back on the interstate headed to our exit.
3rd race- 1st gear from 30- 100 I pulled 2 car lengths on him when I was at 100 (I think he missed 2nd gear big time, because that just shouldn't have happened)
4th race - 1st gear from 30- 105 Me and him were dead even!!! In first gear I jumped a little bit because I was sitting at 6 grand (waiting for Vtec to kick in) when we punched I was very surprised. I would pull, then he would pull, you all know how it works. but at 100 we were right beside eachother.
I had about 30% tread left on my 18's, which are definitely heavier than my stocks. I also got a cold air intake, custom cat-back exhaust (2-1/2 from cat and spilt into 2 inch running to each muffler), and an untuned VAFC 2.
I was very pleased with my performance. I though he was going to rip me a new one, but I just wanted to compare my car from the last time I raced him.
What's everyones thougths?

Tune that VAFC and you'll be beating him...
I think the first time you raced him, when he just moved there, was a bad race. You should have done better. I've had ~10 cars on a GST from stop to 60mph, and you should have had about the same.
That being said, with all the mods he has now, the results are about what I'd expect. Just don't race him if he turns up the boost!

yeah, I know what you mean about the boost...haha... he's running 20 lbs on the weekends now... don't want to mess with him now...
I'm getting it tuned as soon as I get my DC SS Headers, I know they won't make that much of a difference, but I just want to wait anyways....

Er....GST's are ~15.0 second cars. So 10 cars might have been an odd amount, at least to that speed. Of course I was so far ahead it was tough to tell, but at 60mph my g/f said I could stop. 
So it might have been a little less than 10, but it was a lot.
