I just bought a 05 ssm s2k, and own 02' RSX-S with just a CAI, Exhaust and Tein SS-p's, and I swear my RSX is just as fast as my S2K. This opininon may change after I get more use to the S2K, but it doesn't hit nearly as hard in Vtec as the RSX does. My RSX is stronger in 1st and 2nd, 3rd is a tie, and then the S2K takes over. In defense of the S2K, I also don't feel the need to prove it's fast when I drive it like I do in the RSX.
What you're "feeling" doesn't determine which car is faster. Hell, a nissan altima "feels" faster than the S2000, but in reality it's not.

if you were to race your two cars next to each other, you'd see the S2000 winning.

an RSX having more 'kick' than an S2000? im gonna have to drive one of these RSXs. whenever i hit it w/ a passenger, their necks snap back; the S kicks hard. its like having 2 different engines.

Yeah, that is kind of hard to believe. I have an 05, but I have been in an S, and, to me, the S snaps the neck back harder than the RSX haha

Just take a look at the torque curves on the dyno for both cars. The RSX has a flat curve whereas the S2000 sees a jump at VTEC. Isn't that why VTEC is perceived to "kick harder" in the S2K? Or am I mistaken?

exactly. look at the Z for instance. from a stop it "feels" a heck of a lot faster. but it's just not true. maybe something to do with center of gravity or seating position or something. i think my 93 sentra "feels" faster before vtec in the S.

I think suspension has alot to do with it, softer suspension means the car leans back during acceleration, more you lean, faster it feals... on the S, you don't lean so much cause it's got stiff suspension.

My RSX has TEIN ss-p's, so it doesn't have "soft suspension". I have both cars, MY RSX is faster than my S2000 thru 2nd gear. It is way more violent when vtec hits than my S2000. Granted the RSX is modded and my S2000 is brand new and thus currently stock. I am sure equally modded the S would win. I know the difference between feels fast and is fast.
