So I'm cruising down a San Diego freeway heading southbound. I've got the cruise set at 80mph and just rolling by others. I pass a Silver Miata in the 2nd slowest lane with a huge freakin exhaust. He gets over and speeds up and gets right next to me. I look over and he is already looking my way with a So I'm like hmm...I turn the music down and hear nothing but exhaust and motor. So I knew he was riding a low gear. I dump it into 4th and I look over. He throws 2 fingers foward and nodes as if to say "After you mayn!" So I'm like o..k..I decide to nail it (I'm usually fair and wait, if he goes I do). I jump a car ahead and I just hear him nail it and hear this LOUD spooling!?! I'm like "Oh f**k no!" So he just passes my by and at around 125 he is about 3 cars ahead. He shuts down and slows until we are even. I give him a cause that fool deserved it. He gives me a I was running low on gas (had 2 bars before we raced). So I throw a PEACE symbol at him and start to get over to exit. He follows me to a 76 gas station I went to. We talk and he asks about what (little) I had done to my car. He commented on how he was suprised that he didn't pull as hard as usual. He said he races other S2000's and he is just gone! I finish with my gasing and move my car to the side with his. We talk and I ask to see under the hood. No problem he says. NO FREAKIN WONDER why I lost This guy had a Nissan SR20DET stuffed in this little ass car man! I was like DAYMN! Thats gangsta ahaha. He had the motor modded too! Tubular Manifold, BOV, front mount intercooler, upgraded S15 BB turbo etc. He said he had worked on this car for almost a year, suspension etc. The exterior was stock just dumped on Pana Sport style wheels with a crazy low offset that made them stick out a little. Older guy I would say late 30's, very nice man. We talked for about another 40 mins and split. He did however comment on how he loved the S2K's body lines, the handling and its horsepower per liter NICE. He actually was thinking of building one with a crazy motor swap. Oh well, told him about the site and said he would look into it. Cool race, thanks for reading and hope you are still awake

I've heard of that swap. Obviously a sick combination. Talk about a hybrid. I thought maybe it was gonna be one of those monster miatas with the ford 5.0 stuffed under the hood.

 

Noooooo man!!! JLB's monster Miata would have been far too advanced for a race....his gas just wouldn't be worth it for an S2000. Miata's are GOD of all cars cause they cost less to turbo and look better than all s2k's

The S2000 and its "extra 500 lbs of fat" cannot hope to compete with the vehicular masterpiece that is the Miata. Let alone tread the same pavement as such a superior car. That notwithstanding, a turbo'd Miata is faster than a stock S2000. yadda yadda yadda.

 

Nice run in's to the OP, that sounds like one crazy miata....

As for JLB....two words will sum him up "Complete Tool"
