Default Never got to...

Well, I never got to run an S2k with my SRT, I traded it in yesterday for an 03 Lightning. My town is cracking down hard on "street racing" and I just didn't like driving my car and being suspect #1. The cops are pulling people over for no front plate and searching the cars for "race parts" and thats just ludicrous to me. This wasnt the only reason, I also missed my old truck and I've always wanted an L, so I gave in. maybe I'll run into an S2k with the brick, but we'll see. its already got a predator tune and 6# lower pulley, pretty quick, but not as quick from a roll as the skittle. anyway, i'm bored so I figured I'd share.

I had some guy in a lightning try to race me when I still had my STI. What I did to him was just so damn ugly.

I'll have pics after the weekend. so the STi put a beatdown on one eh? did he have mods or do you know? I'm just gonna seek out low 12s as a daily driver, shouldn't cost too much, porting, 4#, intake, tune...

Fresno, why?
heres a sad example of cops work in my town, this sounds like a scene from a sitcom but its what happened to some prelude kid, he posted on a local forum:
I got a fix it ticket for having a modified intake, so I put my stock airbox back on so I could get the ticket written off. I was driving around n saw a pig excuse me "cop" on a bike. So I pulled to the side went up to him and said I needed a ticket written off. He looked under my hood and worte off the the ticket. Heres the ed up part, he walked to the back of my car and saw that I had a "modified exhaust" and wrote me a ticket for having an exhaust. Now is that bullshit or is that sum bullshit?

my buddy way long ago got pulled over for "exhaust too loud" by a cop that had no evidence and we didnt argue, but afterwards went and had it tested by a db reader. legal limit in cali is 95db, his mustered 76 at wot recorded the results and sent a letter and it was thrown out and he didnt even have to go to court...figures, i bet a lot of people just pay the fines.

I carry the Comptech paperwork for my exhaust in the car which claims that it is below the limit for sound and is CARB legal. I'm almost certain the cop who is writing MY ticket will just look at that with a "wtf is this shit" look on his face and keep writing the ticket anyway. Sorry to derail the thread.

Gratz on the Lightning. Do you like being back in RWD?

yeah, if I had proof like that at my fingertips, despite my big mouth, I know - having cops in the family - just to let them do their job and be out, no point pushing them to find something else wrong with your car, cause they often can and usually will if provoked. Just take the ticket, write a letter providing proof and fight your battle there, not with the cop, cause think about it, he really is just doing his job, and if you tell him hes doing somethign wrong...how would you like it?

I do like being back to RWD, not that I had big issues with fwd cause I was never making so much power the fronts had problems, but it is just different.
