Nice run tonight
Tonight I was crusin with a group of friends mostly GT mustangs there was a SRT4 an Evo MR and a few other cars.
I was rollin at around 60mph and my buddy with is GTO comes next to me gives me the 3 beeps, so I line up we go I was in 4th put her down into 3rd instantly put a car on him I was holding about 1.5 cars til around 120.
The next run was at 40mph (his idea) I was in 3rd I was thinking of going into 2nd but I said w/e and floored it got into vtec and ran him til about 120 again holding almost 2 cars and he slowly creeped up as I was shutting down.
His car is automatic, performance wise he's running a SLP intake and a catback I was pretty proud of my car tonight I never thought It was going to turn out that this way!

Has anyone else encountered a Goat out there on the streets?

Good job on beating the driver. The 5.7 GTO has a LS1 and even though it is a boat, it is still quicker than a S2000...especially since he was lightly modded.
Since he was an auto, you would always get a huge jump. He needed to either gear his car down manually (bad idea and hurtful to the tranny) or floor it on the 2nd beep, to where on the third beep, his car has geared down and caught. You were already in gear going while he was still waiting for his automatic to kick down to a lower gear and catch. If driven right, auto or not, a GTO should beat you with your mods...even more so if it has the LS2.

i have been driving my dad's 5.7auto gto around and its pretty fast, but the biggest problem is downshifting. if you were to line up against someone else, it takes about a second for the tranny to kick down 2 gears and engage.
