i was driving to work this morning in my 330i (everyday car) when i catch a glimse of familiar headlights in my rearview mirror. its a spa and as im admiring the car and thinking of mine, hes coming really fast on tail. im driving in the left lane and theres no car on my right but he gets right up my ass for 5 secs and then pulls to the right of me all the while revving his engine at me. okay...so he wants to play? now, my 330i is auto and thinking its pretty fast in its own right i put it in sport mode and start stepping on the gas. its about 50 mph, i hear him dropping a gear, second gear since i could hear the sweet sound of vtec immediately, and he shoots ahead. well im thinking to myself, "im not going to catch him now" so i let him go. i turn on the next street which by the way is a shortcut for me and turn on another street. 1 minute later, i see him behind me again and hes hauling to catch up with me. again he gets behind me and pulls to the right of me and again hes revving his engine. thats it. 55mph and no cars. he drops gears and i step on the gas. im ahead by a nose by the time we hit the limit on the s2k's 3rd gear and i shut it down since were coming up on a stoplight. i look over at him to say hi or something but hes got this mean look and hes revving his engine like crazy. ok, wtf~ anyway, light turns green and he guns it while i just go at my normal, law abiding pace. he realizes im not racing and he slows down to match my speed. he keeps revving, going faster, going slower, trying his best to get me to play. just then, up ahead a car merges into my lane and the guy in the s2k is thinking im going to gun it and try to get in front. i hear him dropping gears but this time, i hear the normal high pitch vtec but with a @!#$CRUNCH!!#%^ and what sounded like the rpm bouncing off the rev limiter. what an idiot! anyway, i get to the next signal waiting to make a left and as he pulls up next to me he gives me the finger! what was that for? i guess he had to take it out on someone for looking really stupid. well, i give him the "V" and go on my way.

some people really go out of their way to race. too bad this guy was being a real jerk. all i wanted to say was "nice car dude, i have one too"

 

tag - that's really too bad. a lot of kids out there really need to grow up. were you able to gauge how old he was?

 

There are some inconsiderate drivers on the roads! WTF!!!!
Don't let it get to you too much. You should hop in your s2k and look for the guy and flip him off with a " Remember ME!!"

I guess there ARE some arrogant a-holes out there that 8000rpm had posted on another thread. Must've been a young kid with a car that mom and dad bought for him.

Too bad there are those few s2000 drivers that make us look bad.

 

He's probably mad because he felt like an idiot. There are always drivers like that and there are always drivers like us who appreciate driving a nice car like the s2000.

speaking of which, i wonder if this mornings driver posts on s2ki....

well, if so...your driving technique need some work. especially when you get beat by a 330i auto.
