NSX Encounter
Just last week I had an encounter with an NSX in the twisties near my house. (Like 5-10 miles of rolling hills and 25-30 mph corners.) It was actually a color I had never seen before, (not that you see very many), his plates were PLUM NSX. By no means do I want to say the cars are even but during the entire VERY spirited drive he could never really pull away. I could also tell from his exhaust note that he was winding it up all the way. (BTW the exhaust note was incredibly close to that of an S2K. It seemed to have the same 'stereo' sound effect that I often heard when a friend and I rode together on identical Honda F2 sportbikes.)
Since the roads are VERY familiar to me maybe I was on the gas a bit earlier on corner exits than he was but I tell you what for a car that is less than half the price, the performance seemed incredibly equal. Now I have to admit the thing looked WAY cool but I guarantee I can have just as much fun if not more in my S2K.
Any other NSX encounters out there??

Not exactly a race, but coming back from a May 5 rally I caught up with a black NSX on I-270 South in Rockville, MD...he gunned it a bit and I dropped down a gear to dip into VTEC.
Those two engines sounded good together! I think the NSX is a lot better looking in real life than in photos -- just like the S2000.

I participated in a So Cal S2k/NSX rally a year ago.
I was surprised that the S2K did as well as it did. While it was obvious who was fastest, the little roadster held out very well.
When comparing price vs performance, IMHO, the S2k wins hands down.

I was faster than two NSX's on the track; I caught them both in my M3 (E36). But, on the street for a straight line run, I doubt I'd have a chance. My car is roughly equal to my prior S2k in straight line acceleration.
As always, driving fast on a twisty canyon road or on the track is all about the driver.
NSX's do look sweet though. Pretty damn intimidating and aggressive.

Indeed, I cannot stress enough the fact that it had the 'exotic car' appeal. The view from the back was incredible with the super low wide look and incredibly wide tires. In fact since it was going the other way when we passed at first I thought it was a Ferrari since you so rarely see them.
As you all have said though, from a performance perspective the encounter just validated the choice I made. Every person I have taken for a spin can not believe the handling and braking of this car!!!!

You should check out the last vid in this group of videos that your S2000 colleagues made at a recent track event. Near the end, you'll see how not to drive an NSX.

I was there that day, but I'm only seen for a split second in the vid.
