Prelude: Another one bites the dust IX
I will be racing an Acura TL (6-speed) this weekend. It has been set-up to happen this Saturday. We will do both from a roll and from a stop. I think I should have him from a stop but from a roll I am not so confident. What do you guys/gals think?
And no, this will not be on video...
Test you 6th sense and let me know who you think will win?

You will win. I agree about your fear from a roll but I don't understand why people want to race from a roll. It makes it very hard to have a perfectly syncronous launch and also pretty much takes out the little amount of skill dragging takes in the first place. Just my 0.02.
Good luck.
Good luck.

^^^ From a roll, a TL should beat a WRX.

RSX-S's dead stock will lose to a WRX from a roll..not to mention the XTs are 250hp so theres more whp than a normal WRX too.

aren't the TLs basically an RSX-S bit heavier?

From a roll, I say it'll be close between a TL and XT. Between a TL and WRX from a roll, my money would definitely be the TL.

Sorry for the delay. There is good news and bad news. The race between my XT and the TL really never transpired. There was just not enough time with having a party and all (wedding party before and after). I did, however meet up him to run down to NC together. I will say the TL is a GREAT car. The inside is very nice and the voice-activated controls are a nice touch as is the nav system. The car ran like a beast. The times we did get to step on it I would creep on him and he would creep back. He blew by me one time going 140ish..WHOA. If I were pressed I would have to say the TL is faster than the XT from a 70 roll. I really think the XT is the performer from down low.
The good news:
I must have raced 10 cars on the way back up (I was solo on the return trip). I smoked and yeah I mean smoked a Mustang convertible GT. I even got to go side by side and it was just pitiful. The guy gave me thumbs up though, so that was cool. I also stomped on a Civic Si (bread van) from a stop. He revved on a BMW beside him, little did he now I was on the other side of the BMW. He took off and I whipped him worse than the GT. I must confess I put on my hazards after that race (I know I know
