Default Race of Rage...

Yesterday, I was going to Berkeley on the 24, and I got to the place where the 2 lanes on the right are separated from 2 lanes on the left by a solid white line. All the lanes go the same direction, but the line is there to prevent people from lane hopping while the 2 right lanes merge together.

So I'm driving next to this white line, jsut waiting for it to end so that I could hop over to my exit, which was really close. Suddenly, this prick right in front of me, starts to slow down. And he keeps slowing down, and I keep slowing down. I'm not tailgatng him at all, but the slower he goes the closer I get, because that the necessary following distance.

Eventualyl he slows all the way down to 35 mph, in a 65mph area, where most people actually go 80. Now, it's actually dangerous, because I'll probably get rear ended by someone coming around the curve.

I've gto my right blinker on, signalling that I want to exit, but this guy just has it in for me and he drives nice and slow. I would say roughly 60 seconds of this slow driving has passed, and I am pretty darn pissed.

When the white line ends, I hopped over one lane getting ready to exit, but then this joker has the balls to downshift and floor his car. That was the last straw for me. I rarely race, but this time I wanted blood. I down shift into vtec, and start to catch up. When I get even, (85 mph) this guy slows down, and then slips in behind me.

I've also slowed down quickly, and now I'm actually on the exit ramp. He highbeams me about 5 times, and then pulls back onto the highway right before the concrete wall.

I swear I wasn't tailgating him. I don't know what his problem was, but I was so pissed. GRrrr!

It was some sort of american muscle car, but I don't know which.

Was it at night? Did he think you were highbeaming him?

The horrible S2000 headlights strike again.

I've had folks in Jeeps do this to me ...

So far I haven't been flashed by anybody, but then again I don't drive too fast behind other cars when I go home at night after work. The problem with HIDs is that (on a stiffer suspension like ours) it looks like we are high beaming others when we go over bumpy roads.

I've seen it on pretty much all HID equipped cars, but I think it's even more prominent on the S2000 because of our stiffer suspension.

yea my friend said he gets that alot too, and i notice it from cars with HID lights all the time, but then I think about it a little and come to the conclusion if someones gonna bright you, therye not gonna do it once, it'll happen 3 or 4 times really quicklike, and unless its a real bumpy road i dont think i'd mistake it for someone actually brighting me.

still pisses me off though not a fan of hids

I nearly got into a fistfight in the middle of the street with this guy who stopped his car and blocked me in, then got out of his car (so i got out- you do NOT want to be sitting in the car if someone decides to start beating on you)- he kept accusing me of highbeaming him, he was a crazy sonofabitch. So was his trashy, bandana-wearing, thug-loving girlfriend.

Anyway, that's not the first time someone has gotten mad at me because they thought I flashed them- I mean, come on, people. If I'm gonna bright you, you'll know it.
