Default raced ANOTHER...FASTER Cobalt SS Supercharged

ok, yesterday afternoon i was driving down independence with a buddy of mine and i see what i thought was a Cobalt LS. It had a nice exhaust and good paint etc., but it still said LS on the trunk. It slowed down and paced me and i started to laugh at him and then punched it in 2nd gear. i get off at the next exit and so does the cobalt and when it turns into 2 lanes the Cobalt goes flying by me with an extremely LOUD supercharger. right then i knew it was another SS. i pull up beside him at a light and he says "lets go back to the highway" and i say are you a LS? and he says "no i had to switch trunks with someone else...this is a SS" and i said "how many pounds are you running?" and he replied "18lbs." i then said alright lets go back to the highway...
(now keep in mind ive already raced a cobalt ss supercharged before and he had it at 12lbs of boost. i think they come stock with 8 but vs. the 12lb cobalt i only won by 1 or 2 cars from 45-100+ ) but this time...i had a NICE upgrade.
we go to the highway and start off at 45, he honks it and were off and by the time 2nd gear runs out a car cut in front of me so i had to shut down. we go again, 2nd gear i have about a car or two, into 3rd i have at least 4, into 4th im still pulling HARD and right as i shift to 5th gear i start to slow down bc he is literally about 10 cars back! i thought at first he may have shut down but i see him come screaming behind me and only slows down once i hit the brakes. we go again, the same 10 car result. i wouldve gone once more but as i lined up beside him he laughed and shook his head and yelled out "enough!! have mercy!!" and i said "thats still a fast cobalt!" we both gave each other the thumbs up and a wave and went our seperate ways. his SS sounded like a Cobra, muuuuuch louder than the other cobalt i raced. so, the 2 races ive had with supercharged cobalts went like this 45-100+ vs. 12lb SS i won by 1-2 cars. 45-100+ vs 18lb Cobalt i won by about 10 cars! want to know my mod before you me?? this was the first race ive had since i added my 75 shot!! i probably wouldve lost without it but with the 75 shot i ripped him in half!!

yes i have nitrous in the camry!!! i run a 125 shot on it. lol.gif but with a 75 shot on the s2k it feels untouchable...i know its not, but its scary fast. but a stock SS supercharged cobalt traps about 100mph and runs a low 14sec-(very)high 13 sec 1/4 mile. theyre extremely underrated from the factory and most put out about 205 to the wheel bone stock. theyre fast cars. he upped his boost all the way to 18 but it still wasnt enough for the zex. without the zex, id put money on that SS.

i just hate it when people claim that nitrous is cheating and that "anybody can throw a bottle on a car and make it fast" when that isnt the case. a well setup nitrous system including the nitrous system itself, a window switch, bottle heater, pressure gauge, blow down valve, purge kit, seperate stages, spark plugs, possible timing retardation, installation costs, etc. run you well over $1,000...close to $2,000. not only that, but you can choose to do tuning, and compression checks which all cost money as well. a 4 cylinder cant safely hold as much juice as say, a big v8 with a low compression ratio. to run a 4 banger safely, it takes a lot of time and money. IMO it should be respected like a turbo or s/c

Arg, I hate when people call nitrous .. nos.

NOS is a brand that sell nitrous kits.
N20 is the correct designation for nitrous.

Calling nitrous NOS is the same as calling all 2 seater convertibles miata's.
