I encounterd a sharp S2K yesterday. Here are the details from here: http://www.mazdamp3.com/vbb230/showthread....&threadid=47684

This time the results were favorable. I was on my way to my Dad's to finish installing front struts on his 88 T-bird Turbo Coupe, when I stop at a light at Green Oaks and New York Ave. with a silver S2000. The cool thing about this one was that no one did any of that silly reving stuff, or even acknoledged there was gonna be a race. It kinda just happened after the light turned green. We both eased out to see what the other person was gonna do. He kinda pulled up a little, and then I did. All of a sudden, we both mash it. The Garrett T3 spools, and I pull ahead about 4-6 ft. He revs it, and gains back, and we stay side-by -side the whole time until we had to shut it down. The thing is we both were mature enough to shut it down at the same time with no bullshit. We gave each other the thumbs up, and went seperate ways. Turns out this guy knew me from previous car meets over at Cici's Pizza over of I-20 and Little Road/Green Oaks (Arlington, Tx). I know if we had pushed it up past 100 MPH (which was unlikely in a 45 mph zone), he would have pulled past me...or if it had been warmer outside, he probably would have pulled. This was a much better race then the one I had with Big_Ben. It was pretty damn warm ouside last time. Here are the details of that race: http://mazdamp3.com/vbb230/showthread.php?...highlight=S2000

I felt better about my car after this. And the fact that my Wideband is working again was great. My A/F was right at 11.7-11.8 when I was racing him, and my J&S Safeguard registered no knock this time.

I have a Laser Mica Blue Mazda MP3, with some aftermarket goodies in need of some tuning. If you want to know what I have on my car, hit one of the links above, and check out my sig on the other forum.

A turbo MP3 is nothing to take lightly. My last car was a turbo MP3, and that thing was fast. The car handles great too.

I own all turbo MP3's. We were really about dead even. I think my back bumper was at your front the whole time. I never pulled any farther than that. Not bad for an econobox.

If only I had you gearing.... I hate having to shift when you still have 3,000 RPM left. Hahahaha!
