Default raced a camaro z28

Hi I raced a Camaro z28 today. It looked like the 1998 and up model. He pulled up to the light next to me and we raced until about 60. I had him the all the way by about 1 car length. We just happened to get right next to each other at the next light and he took me by about a half a car length to 60 again. My real question is do the z28's have the v8 making in the making range of 300 bhp, or could it have been the v6 200 bhp version. Thanks im just a bit curious.

First of all, you should have pu this thread in Street Encounters. Secondly, as far as I know, all Z28s come with V8s. Try racing at a track and not the streets. It's safer for those around you.

It sounds to me like you raced the non-Z28 Camaro. Z28s ('98+) come with the LS1 V8, as in the C5 Vette. They make in the neighborhood of 345hp and should easily take a win over an S2000, given the Chevy guy knows how to drive.

Good kill nonetheless.

NEVER!!! I know better than to be drawn into something like that. I knew it when I was younger and I know it now. I have had friendly drives with other sportscar drivers though. And at the end we just wave to each other and go our separate ways, respecting each other.

allright I see your point. I was having a bit of fun sorry for upsetting you. But in all fairness you need to get out a bit more and loosen up. We went to 60 mph not 120. The speed limit was 55. I have gone to the track many a time and had lots of good track time but no one in their right mind would pass that up.

No problem here. I just appreciate my car for what it is. A roadster, not a dragster. Also, I'm plenty loose.

A Z28 should have got you by at least 1-2 car off the line, unless you dropped at 7K. If you got him one car all the way thru 60, it means he wasn't prepared to race at first, you got him off guard.

If you really did drop at 6-7K at a light, Dario got a point there.
