I believe the M coupe's speed limiter is 137 mph but it sounds like his cojones limiter was set much sooner. The newbie M coupe's are a monster...stay far away from them. They're running low 13's off the showroom floor. I believe they have a slightly less powerful M3 engine. 320hp or so?

Thanks guys. Somehow, I fully expected to get roasted, but it just didn't work out that way . I think the fear with BMW's is that they are "chipped". The car's are easily modded it seems, one can never tell if it's a wolf in sheeps clothing. Im' sure he's getting a chip as we speak so that the next little S2K doesn't make him look so bad for the money he spent...lol.

For the record, BMWs do not respond that well to aftermarket engine modifications. I have installed an assortment of dinan products, and the most I've gained (butt-dyno) is 25-30 HP. If I could turn back time I would use the money on suspension and lightweight mods.

Hmm, well, I suppose the S54 engine is rated higher over here? I have a little brochure on the E46 M3 next to me now, and it says 360 hp at 7900 rpm. This engine, according to my local BMW dealer, will be replacing the 321 hp engines in the M Roadster and M Coup
