lack of traction is a bitch

If he had a s/c, he would have killed you if he could hook up.

But thats where the AWD is awesome.

my GT with a Vortech and some exhaust work went 12.70@111 on a stock street tire, IE with some sticky tires, it's a 12.0 car. by the way it's an 02 GT. If you were looking at a dome hood, it could have been an 03 cobra, which makes about 345 rwhp, and goes 12.9~12.3 depending on driver stock, if it was loud and nasty sounding (exhaust) it's quite a bit quicker as a full exhaust (including headers) is worth like 60hp on an 03 cobra. Those car's on slicks with a pulley and mufflers can run 11's all day long.

Last night...driveing home from the beach (its like 60-65 degrees here at night) an 88-91 i think style 5.0 black on black, classic bad ass looking, sounding, and performing mustang pulls up next to me and my passenger wanting to run...well at 1st we dont go cause the sprinklers were on and the streets were kinda iffy, so I told him to wait untill our tires dry off right quick...well he's in 3rd and steps down on it and his rear end starts to kick out (dumbass) however soon as he lets off the gas, straight out of his turn downs this blue butane like fire starts pouring out of his exhaust..(and its not like the movie 2f2f where it just looks like regular fire...but it also lasted for as long as he was in 3rd slowing down , 7-8 sec.)anyways...we pull along side next to each other, and then we go from a 2nd roll at like 5500....its his advantage through 2nd inching slowly on me, 3rd the inch turns to inches as he pulls about a car ahead, 4th im still back there looseing ground, we let off mid 4th and hes got about a car and a 1/2 on me...well like I always do, I pull up to him and ask him what he had done blah blah...I can barely hear him so he tells me to follow him to a gas station...there he tells me that his car is built pretty nicly, he had alot of work done to that thing...he said he runs 13.1 w/ (i forgot the kind of tires he said), and that the car is setup for nitrious and runs low 12's to high 11's when its properly setup....also I asked him about that fire shyt comeing out of the exhaust... he said that him and his friends rigged this thing to when hes in gear slowing down he shuts the car off and steps on the gas, that sends excess fuel to where he has a spark pulg chillen in the exhaust...soon as they meet...walla fire! (something like that)

However, a 13.1 sec. car should have beet me by more than a car and a 1/2...right?? Atleast thats what I thought.

Too many variables on the street from a roll. He could have started out in too high a gear, he maybe shifted too early, etc. Sounds like a nice car you raced

(This should be a new thread)
