raced a TL
We were lined up at a light with no intentions of racing at least on my part, but then the guy launches hard (as hard as you can launch in an automatic) so i just floored. He had a three car lead and my first reeled him in to be even, second put two lengths on him and third put another two-three. By 80-90 he quit and took a left turn.
It was a type S automatic and are'nt they all basically new? It was'nt brand new but probably an 06 or something and im not sure if he let off early, that may be why i got a lot of lengths in the one gear. I dont know, the only reason i raced it was because my boss drives one and thinks she can beat me plus this guy started it with me and we were at a great spot to race. My mods are basically non-existent: magnaflow mufflers and a k&n filter. Are these TL's supposed to do better or something?

Depends on what generation it was - I have an 07 TL-S and an 05 S2000. There are 10ths of a second in the 0-60 times. BTW, I got 32 mpg this last weekend up to Woodenville in the S2000 - I get 32 mpg on the freeway with the TL-S. Honda FTW!
Heh, I had a run-in with a TL-S at a red light one saturday morning (current generation with those funky quad tips). Looked and sounded bone stock. Guessing it was a high school kid driving mom's car. Anyway:
Him (eyeing my car): "You know these have more hp now than the S2000" (as if the hp of the S2000 was ever anything to brag about).
Me: "Ya they're nice. My S is still pretty quick though."
At this point, the light turned green and he took off hard. Not sure if he had the paddle shifters or 6MT. Anyway, I did a moderately aggressive launch and ran it to the top of 3rd ... he was very small in the rearview but I could see the one finger salute before he had to suddenly make a right turn.
