I was in Bear Mountain... and for those who know this area, it was the twisty bits after the road up to High Point. I was waiting at the Yield sign at the bottom of the hill to give me some room so I don't get caught up in traffic as I am wailing it. Then in my rearview I see a 911 turbo coming up...so.. I take off up the mountain roads where the first turn is a "posted" 15mph left hand sweeper. I hear him get on it so... I gun it as well (I know if he really wanted to he could have just annihilated me...). He stays on my rear like glue... I am just in "the zone" hitting my downshift rev points perfectly and using the proper gears to get me out of the corners. He goes back a bit as I hit those sweepers. Then when the straights appear, he is on my ass within a second! He stayed behind me the whole way (mind you it IS a one lane road ). We then proceed to go up to High Point and pull over in the parking lot (where ALL the sportbikes hang out). I gave him the thumbs up and as I walked over to his car I asked him how much he was holding back.... He just . He said he waited 9 months for his silver 2002 911 turbo. He got it from Prestige Auto in Nanuet, NY. The guys going to put it back in the shop to have a Gembella exhaust and new ECU installed... he said it will be good for another 90hp!!

The guy was really cool and said he had fun running me through the mountain roads. His previous car was a CLK430 which he said was garbage (well when you compare it to the 911 turbo I guess pretty much everything else bows down!). Oh and BTW he had his girlfriend with him who was ssssssmmmmooooooking!!!!!! Just unreal! So this lucky SOB was around 35yrs old... an awesome car...with an unreal GF... man life is just not fair for me...

Oh and as I was ready to leave, he said he really liked the s2000 and that his brother had a black one. You just gotta love it when true car guys enjoy their cars.

I'm relieved to hear that there exists a guy in this world who both owns a new Porsche and drives it the way the Germans intended. There are more 911 Turbo carpet queens than I care to think about. Hell, most the guys I see in new Porsches in the Bay Area don't even seem to know that a right turn on a red is legal...

Speaking of the track, have you taken your S2000 to the track to drive it the way the Japanese intended or are you too busy putt-putting around on the street?

LOL.

I saw those laying around the local Porsche dealership. The exhaust alone is like $1200 + labor. I guess if you can afford a Turbo Porsche then you're not gonna stress about $1200 in parts just for a cat-back.

Exhaust is closer to $3K, especially for the Turbo exhaust as the 100 cell cats are included on most/all after market exhaust (especially the Gemballas). The ECU itself is over $1200, but with the Turbo you get sick power. I have a set of Gemballas on my Carrera. Retail is almost $2000 on those. I guess car parts go up exponentially with the price of the car .
