i was on the way to morongos today and before i hit the freeway i saw a gto ahead of me .. he spotted me in his rears and he went flying.. i decided to catch up and he slowed down for me.. and we went from 2nd gear to 4th and we were dead even... 2nd run i started in 3rd until end of 4th and he pulled me by 3/4 a car... im not sure if ders diff kinds of gto's but.. none the less sounded really nice

 

I just had my first gto kill today... I walked away from him with ease...

was it auto or manual? 04s have the LS1 from the Camaro/Firebird with 350hp, and they weigh in at about 3750lbs. the 05s have the LS2 from the C6 base vette with 400hp and again, weigh about 3750lbs. Chances are, if all you have is an intake, then it was probably an 04, possibly even auto. good kill nonetheless, either GTO has an amazing engine, it just needs to go on a diet.

I drove an 04 auto, and it was deceptively fast from a roll.

 

basically yeh - 104ish for the manual. thats why im thinking it was an 04 auto, or not perfectly driven manual. if it was an 05, then the driver needs some lessons...

I drove a GTO and they are pretty cool. They have lots of tq and slide sideways easily.
