I'm crossing the line *just* before I need to shift into 5th. So until I get the 4.57 gearset, I only have to shift into 4th, which obviously saves me the trouble of one more shift.
IMHO since the traps include the area on both sides of the finish line going with a lower gearset will cause you to shift into fifth. The shift will put you down in the powerband, take time and potentially cost you in your quarter time and top end.

Changing gears may be an expensive mistake for you if you are only concerned with quartermile times.

The weather was nice and dry and the track was well prepped, so I just revved it up to 6K rpms and dropped the clutch for my launch. I used the throttle to sort of "feel" whether I needed to give it more or less gas to maintain traction without bogging. Of the 4 passes I made yesterday, 3 of them were in the 2.1xx range.

Oh, and my tires were right around 23psi in the rear and 32 in the front.
Thanks for the info. Do you still have the clutch delay valve in place? I have an AP2 as well and the CDV drives me nuts, especially on the 1-2 shift at redline.

I do still have the CDV in place. I want to switch with an AP1 valve, but haven't gotten around to finding one. I'm a little reluctant to just completely remove the thing.

I don't think the ap1 has a clutch delay valve man. There's nothing to switch to.

I think he means he wants to switch to an AP1 solenoid.

You wouldn't want to get the 4.57 gearset? Have you driven an AP2 with this mod done? I haven't yet. From what I've read, it sounds like a great mod to me, especially since I don't daily drive my car... however I haven't had the chance to test it out yet. I'm waiting to drive someone's geared AP2 before I make the purchase.
