on my way home from a Macromedia seminar downtown.. just got on the highway.. open lanes.. cruising around 70.. left lane.. i hear something come up next to me in high gear..

look over black Firebird.. dude staring over.. i hit 3rd and take off about the same time he did.. to my suprise i'm pulling! only got to about 100 before a car was in his lane.. he was at about my door panel when i looked over. he was goes around the car weaving through traffic. not about to play that.. they keep going..

i catch up.. the passenger throws a wave.. i throw one back.. they rev up so i take off. i got a big jump so i tap the brakes.

end up hitting a long line of traffic at a light getting off the highway.. i yell 'good run! you'd kill me off the line!' him: 'i know! i've got gears!, **** this highway shit i wanna run from a stop!' few seconds later him:'Hey is that a 6 cyclinder or 4?" me:"4" turns to his friend and said "i told you".. traffic moves and end up heading separate ways

also noticed a K&N sticker and blackpowdercoated stock looking wheels.

Ls1 ws6 with gears for s2k. Sorry but thats the truth. Stock they will outrun s2k with not much sweat but with gears its just over for you . I am pretty sure it might have been a v6 or you are sc which I don't know. Good kill I guess.

I agree with harry.

A stock LS1 on the highway will KILL... no rephrase, MURDER you. Add gears and its your typical sunshine in bagdad boming.

But if they add shorter gears, wouldn't that give them more off the line, but less top end?

hey, i agree.. i thought he should kill me without gears. just posting what I saw and heard. it didn't have the lil v6 exhuast.. and i'm pretty sure it wouldn't of sounded like that WOT if it was a disguised heavly modded v6.

didn't pull enough that i'd call it a kill.. definately an interesting run. he had a passenger and t-tops off.. which i'm sure slowed him down.. and i have intake and exhuast i think that helps a bit in top end.

Your experience accurately reflects mine. I lost to a Trans Am off the line pretty bad, however we rolled and it was close.

Nice Kill!!!

I don't think we need to reiterate the obvious for the millionth time:

1. LS1's are faster than S2000's
2. On a good day, with a good driver, an S2000 might have a chance against an LS1 on a not so good day with a not so good driver
3. Glen wants to race a stock S2000 in a stock LS1 for money, but no one is stupid enough to take im up on that.
