Default RX-8 vs MY00 S2K

Doing a little cruising this nice saturday afternoon down the only main street that poor little Wichita Falls has. I stop at a light and see a decently modded silver RX-8 pull up on my left. We talk a little since the light was taking it's sweet time. Turns out that in addition to his over the top body kit and wing that he is sporting an intake, header, and exhaust.

This got me a little excited because this car had a couple mods and was a 6spd to boot. My mods are in my sig. The light is getting ready to turn green and we agreed to do go from a 20mph roll.

It was pretty even in first gear since my S has a tendency peel out at first when going balls out from that particular speed. 2nd gear comes and v-tec just ate him up hard from there. By the end of third gear I had proceeded to put 4-5 cars on him. We did a few more rolls but it all resulted in the same thing... him getting pulled pretty hard....it might have been even worse for him if I didn't have the top down.

I honestly like the look of the RX-8's, but could never justify the funds for the lack of go it provides.

Funny part is, he was more impressed by my carbon fiber trunk than anything else....like the race

I drove one for the past 4 days. Not bad cars. Mine had a $3k sound system, which was the only reason I drove it. Crazy bass. I can pull 5 cars on one

If you have OEM tires (Potenza s02) you should not have traction problems in a NA S2000.

went to Hot Import Nights last night and saw a very nice black rx-8 (not in the show) on some 19's, a body kit, and prolly other stuff i can't remember. it was very nice lookin. those cars may be slow (as far as sports cars go), but they have a lot of nice tech goodies under the hood (carbon fiber driveshaft, electric variable assist steering, tire pressure monitor, auto leveling hid's, dimming/heated mirrors, 300W sound system).

lol, thats due to the giant fm you have =). If stock or NA an AP1 with OEM tires should not have traction problems. Its the people that put cheap tires on that experience these problems

On brand new S03s, on level ground, good road, my car would hook up and rocket off, even with the blower on it. Granted, I wasnt making all that much hp for a supercharged stook (280-290rwhp), but still.........

Hell, my 400+rwhp Z06 will hook up in first on street tires if Im smooth with the throttle.

Then again, I can break traction just romping on it in second as well........so your milage may vary.

I think I may have mislead you a tad when I say that I "peel out" at my 20 mph roll. I wasn't talking a huge burn out session, just like a half a second spin when v-tec hits. And I do have fairly new stock tires....not the cheapies. The tires really do hook up good, but it's not impossible for them to spin a little bit occasionally.
