sounds like he just needs to learn to launch his car. the LS2 (or LS1 for that matter) makes big torque in the low rpm's and plateaus throughout the revs. if he were actually getting traction off the line, he'd feel the torque before a turbo car would, regardless of how soon your turbo is fully spooled (although i see you're making about as much torque as a stock GTO on the right boost setting). which begs the question - at what rpm are you fully spooled? i can totally see how a 4WD stage STi would seem like it has more torque off the line simply b/c it is lighter and gets way better traction than the GTO.
