14.4 and 14.1 are very good for a first timer. Heck, a 14.1 is good for an old timer; I said 'good', not 'very good' because it could be better.

But anyway, your reaction time sucked, yet you still managed to get a better 60' time than the Z, but somehow at near the end, the Z pulled on you. Were you shifting slowly towards the middle and end? Because at the beginning, you were doing fine, but towards the end, you seemed to slow down.

The S2k got a better 60 foot time simply because he launched better than the Z. I'm guessing the Z pulled on him in the end because it just has so much more power/torque. Trap speed is a good representative of a car's potential. ET is a good representative of the driver.

That's not ALWAYS the case. The same driver in the same car can get very different trap speeds. On a bad run, the driver may get 97mph, yet on the next run, he may achieve 100mph.

Regarding his run, I'm thinking he did not shift quickly enough during the middle and end. But that's just my guess; no evident truth.

what model year is your s2k?...i ran a 13.8 with a horrible alignment that costed me 2-3mph on trap speed and about .1 on my et when i was stock....my slip is posted somewhere on this site..launching try revving it up2 7500-8000 and kinda ease of the clutch...you should get 2-3 rotations of spining the tire then hook....good for 2.0 60 foot times
I agree with you here..when my S was stock, the 2nd time I ran it I ran a 13.9 @95mph!!! Yes 95 mph...I went to get it checked out and it turned out that my car was cambering...and pretty bad at that (you could see the slant of the rear tires)
Down low my times were awesome, but after the 1/8th they droped off horribly! I had the car re-alligned and fixed the camber problem and now the car traps in the 100's...

Word of advice, this is not the 1st or 2nd time i've heard of S's having camber problems...If your trap speeds are down, you should get it checked out. Defenitly good for a few tenths.

Im not speaking directly to you phaze, everybody who may have the same problem..

Do Z drivers average mid 14's-low 15's...? I was under the idea that because of the torque of the 350z, its much easier to drive and generally will sit around the low - high 14's depending on traction. I thought it was the hard to drive S2k that was having people that had quarter mile times that were all over the place. Nice run though. I drive an auto Z and i run 13.8 flat.

Assuming your 13.8 AUTO Z isn't stock....

I plan to go to the track soon too, it'll be my first time in the S so we'll see...think I figured out how to launch it pretty well...and I have a ACT PP so the clutch will grab a little better.

Thats a good run...I'm also guessing that you were shifting slowly throughout the run...which would explain a good 60' but not so good ET

auto Z? I thought autos were much slower than standards. Manual Zs get the same times low 14s etc. I wonder what an auto s2k would be like then, would never want to own one though No more 9k shifts would be sad
