Default "s" vs 69 mustang

i was leaving the honda dearlership after buying some touchup paint and a raised chevy truck fallowed by a 69 mustang pulls out of their city college parking lot like a CHILD on STERIODS!! i fallow him for about 3 stops lights because my house was up ahead and at every light these kid's foot were glued down on the gas pedals!! (i have no idea why) come to it, i finally decide to merge into the next lane and with my luck, i caught a red light with the 69 mustang.

i looked both ways, making sure no pedestrians or POPO. the light turns green and we both go at it!! 1st gear and i emeidiately pull 1/2 a car and by the end of 3rd i had a good 5 cars on him. his car sount pretty loud but i'm not to familiar with older muscle cars. i didn't want to talk because the kid looked young, but hopefully he now knows not to to jerk around pulling out of parking lots.

It's surprising how such slow cars(by modern standards) are remembered as being so fast. In my area you can't bring up classic 'merican cars without people talking about how they are the fastest cars ever made, but in reality the majority ran 14's(blame tires).

Good kill.

Yea I get the american muscle thing thrown in my face all of the time. Lead sleds they're ok sounding but the power to weight ratio isn't there unless it is ripped up inside and out and then its just not a classic "muscle car" I would stick a twin turbo supra against an older muscle car anyday

It may have only been a 6 cyl and an automatic. All I know is my brother's, aka my dad's old 66 with a 289 HI PO 4 speed would eat me alive. Granted it has had a little work .

I don't know man, it shouldn't be much of a race unless he's had alot done. A hipo 289 isn't really that fast by todays standards, even if it is a 4-speed

I think factory horsepower was rated somewhere around 270. The car weighs around the same as ours. I think he is putting down somewhere around 325-330 and ton's more torque, 3.89 rear and soild lifters. In any event it is fun to spin a V-8 to 7000 rpm's. I know how fast my car is and I know how fast his is.
