Default S Vs. Modded Rsx-s

On our way home from a meet up at Springfield mall in Virginia. My RSX-S friends decided to put up some competition. There was one RSX base, one RSX-S stock and one RSX-S (I/h/E). The RSX base and RSX-S stock was just following along.

While me and the modded RSX-S hit it. We were going 40mph and I was in 4th gear. Downshift to 3 (I'm not a fully experienced driver) So he pulled on me about 1/2 a car and as my car climb up and passed him about a bumper and as he shift to 5th I was amaze how he could kept up with me... When I raced a base RSX-S I was walking away from him before I even reach 6500rpm We were going at least 125mph. So I was surprised. But anyways, There were minor traffic so we had to switch lanes and this was when I realize how well my S can handle compare to my daily driving car (Rav4). As soon as I was cleared from traffic which didn't take much, I waited for him to come up. But this time he was coming up Full speed. In the end meeting up at my friend's house me and him didn't claim victory but our friends said the Modded RSX-S won.

While the base RSX didn't even try because he claim there was a cop right behind him. When the base RSX guy came we were just sitting chilling smiling and shaking. Man it was a great experience that I haven't had in a while.

They're all claiming that with Hondata ECU the modded RSX-S could probably pull on me due to more torque output with about 240hp. But I'm still waiting for him to get it...

No, they pulled on you because you were in the wrong gear. 40mph? You should have been in second gear. If you can't drive your car, please don't post about it on the internet.

I agree! It would have been no contest if you were in the right gear. Once you figure the car out you will understand what we are talking about. We aren't bashing you, hang in there and next time, smoke him!

Never Race out of VTEC and never race in the wrong gear. If you are below 6000 rpm you don't have the right gear. I usually settle for nothing less than 7000.

one of my friends on here, bustedshox, raced an rsx-s with hondata, race exhaust, intake and was pretty much dead even with him... imagine if our cars responded to mods as well as the k-series motors... that would be great.

raced my friends modded rsx-s (aem v2, jackson racing header, hondata gasket, and some other stuff) and I easily pull on him about 1.5 to 2 car lengths. I use to own one and they're great cars and respond well to mods. But I'd take an s2k anyday.

40 mph on 3rd gear?......try 2nd...different outcome.

This K engines respond very well to mods since they are not as tuned in performance like the F engines. With the mods they are not more reliable than the Fs for sure. In order to gain performance they must sacrifice reliability.
