Default S2000 versus Boxster

would an S2000 beat a Boxster? stock v. stock. and NOT the S model..just a regular 1998-1999 200hp Boxster....

I am assuming the S will kill the Boxster, despite the Boxster's torque advantage...

any of you with "personal" experience??

S2k is faster, though anything can happen.

I've had no problem passing both the vanilla and the S version on the track....w/o the SC. Of course, just because someone has the extra coin to blow on a Porsche doesn't mean their driving skills are up to it...

A boxster S and S2000 are about even in performance. A S2000 should win agains a reg. boxster.

i've seen a recent Best MOTORing video with a 350Z, S2000, M3, and Boxter (regular, not boxter S) along with an R34 GTR mounted with cameras for observation, and not officially racing.
anyway, the boxter fell behind very behind very fast (i think in the first lap) and just continues to fall back and finishes something like 10 seconds behind. oh, and for people curious about the S2000, it did not win, but the elements werent fair because the GTR blocks a lot of moves that the S2000 could have made. its not definate who would have won w/o the gtr, so dont speculate, unless you want another mindless z/s arguement. for purposes of comparing the boxter though, its very evident in this video how the base boxter performs.

edit: heres a link to the video: http://auto.joins.com/upboard/pds/pdst/Bes...ukubaBattle.asf

But the fact is the s2000 put down a faster lap time than the z and slightly behind the M3.

With open runs, where nobody was blocking him (the 350 obviously had this pleasure, the M3 had it after he had passed the S2000, since the 350 was far anough ahead that the front was clear), the S would've posted even better times.
