Default S2000 vs auto GTO

I ran a GTO from a 30mph roll a couple days ago, and was able to pull about a car length on him by 90mph.

Just kinda curious if this is the norm for an S2k vs auto GTO?

The '05 is a whole step up.

I had the same result with the pre 05 ones too. Dead even to about 50mph then I slowly started pulling away.

Yeah I saw them test a bunch of older cars the other night on Speed channel. Theey did the GTO, 442, Charger and a couple of others. One of them actually cracked into the 13's at almost 100mph...blazing fast. Even a 2004 GTO with a meager 350 (vs. the 400hp of the 05) ponies will spank those old cars in every conceivable performance category. My dad owns an Orange GTO Judge in show condition and it's cool for what it is but technology has come a LONG way.

LOL, thats crazy. I kinda always wondered as well how the S or the Evo would do against the GTO. Im sure the manual tranny is a bit faster. Those cars as far as look s dont really do anything for me, kinda looks like a big Cavalier. That and arent they extremely heavy, something like 3800lbs or more? I think the 05 looks better with the ram air type hood and an extra 50 hp is nioce too
