My friend and I are on our way to the gym again so my friend spots this yellow car and he goes, damn look at that dude, he said his face looked scary like a convict, i didnt see it cause I was looking at the car, so I told him thats a M Roadster.

so he was pulling out of a parking lot and we were doing about 65 and there was some traffic. so now hes about 10 cars behind us. But I see him kinda weaving in and out of traffic so I was looking around to see what he was after and didnt see any other performance car but mine so I was like damn here we go again, so now he is about 2 cars behind me so I switch to the middle and he switches to the right lane still in sixth gear. so now hes about my rear bumper so I decided to shift into 4th before he gets even closer to me. So now we were doing about 90 - 100 and I just could not see him get past my rear bumper so now we are doing about 115 and this road now curves to the left but I kept at it to the max and I was still a car lengh ahead of him. This went on for about a 1 1/2 at which point i decided to slow down.

Yes it was an M Roadster w/ dual exhaust and fatties in the back.
And yes it is a big possibility that the driver sucked because if im correct the M Roadster should've had me for dinner. Then again thats why they call me Venemous Killer on the Road

Depends on what year M Roadster. The 98-01's had 240 HP and are a pretty even match for the S2000, depends on conditions, drivers, etc. The new 02's have 315 HP and run 0-60 in 4.7 seconds and should have left you behind. I don't think Dakar Yellow is offered in 02 so I suspect this was one of the 240Hp versions. I used to own one, a first year '98. Fun cars, nice meaty tires and all sorts of low-end torque and power in that car. Should be interesting to see what the '03 redesign turns out to be like in detail.

If you want a balls-out roadster, I think the '02's are currently your best bet...

Goes either way -- I was slowly walked by a 98-00 M roadster in the S2000 a couple nights back. On average I would say the M is a hair faster.

Both fun cars.

If you believe the numbers, they are right on top of each other. The magazines ran them together and they were within .1 sec of each other on 0-60 and 1/4 mi. No way a S2000 "walks" a M roadster (old or new). The old ones are equal, the new ones are about .5-.6 sec faster across the board. The latest Moter Trend had a new M roadster at 13.15 in the 1/4 and 4.7 in the 0-60. What's scary is the Mercedes SLK32 AMG did the 1/4 in 13.06 with a 4.62 sec 0-60....now that is fast!

Does it have Quad exhaust? I thought that only the 2001/02 with the 315hp M roadster have the quad.

Nope, the "old" M roadsters have quad exhausts as well. I had a friend who had an 98' M roadster (chipped, with CAI), and another with an S2000 and we all raced from 35-40 mph I beat the S2000 by a 3 car lengths up to 100, and he beat him by a car length and a half.

Yep, the new ones are damn fast. Globs of torque, just globs. I was racing an old dood in one, he pulled hard.
