Last night me and my buddy were headed to a club. Hes about 190 lbs.

Im stopped at a light. Suddently i see these 2 headlights up my rear but thought nothing of it. Light turns green and i just took off very mellow, but i noticed that this car which i just realized is Porsche wanted to play because his car launched forward upon take off again very close to my rear so now in second gear I floor it. The lane to my right is now clear so he changed over. He didnt catch up to me until 110MPH which at that point he started pulling away from at a very moderately to fast speed so I was like holy crap. At say by about 115 he had about a 1- 1.5 car length on me so I just slowed down and that was the end of it. We both had our tops down, I had my buddy which hes about 190, with 1/2 tank of gas. The other guy was by himself and he didnt seem to be that big of a guy. I was a little upset only because of the fact that my buddy is a Porsche owner, he owns a '85 targa which I have beaten him on top end speeds previously. so he was ragging me on that all night, oh well.

On thing to mention though I have noticed that my car used to bang into gear from first to third which would launch my car forward when I power shift. it doesnt do it no more so I think that my clutch has defenitely worn down a bit. This is not an excuse for what happend but yet every millisecond counts in a race.

don't race with the top down, think the Boxster might have a better CD with the top down vs the S with top down. Oh, ditch your friend.

 

lol im cracking up ovahere. yeah he is a heavy bastard.

But yeah i thought the same thing that the Porsche has better aerodynamics than the S w/ the top down because after 110 i mean this guy was gone.

 

I raced a Mustang and was winning but when I hit fourth, felt like I hit a wall and he came back at me. I had the top down, above 100mph, the top down is serious drag.

 

I don't imagine the weight would have made that much of a difference if he was pulling to almost 2 car lengths, and our drag co. sucks ass, I believe that Porsche's is much better

good race though. the top down is a definite bummer. i have the top down ALL the time, so i know. sucks after 2nd gear (the CD i mean). oh well, that's the price for the air in the hair! hahahaha

 

Raced a Boxster S about 10 times last year. We both had the top down. Pulled 1-2 cars on him from 50-120 every single time.
