Default s2000 vs. cl-type s w/nos

today i raced my bro car. I have a s2000 w/ only hks exhaust, he has a cl-type s equipped w/80 shot nos, aem cai, greddy exhaust, and comptech headers which he just installed today. I had previously raced his cl-type s before and took it by about almost 2 car legnth without nos, with nos he kept up, but i still beat him about half a car legnth. But today, after my bro installed his headers he was anxious about the performance he will gain with the headers, so he wanted to race. So we ended up going to a nearby street which is about a little longer than 1/8th of a mile where we usually run our cars. We ran a total of three runs as one of our buddies flagged us off. During the first run i revved my engine up to 6krpm, my buddy flagged us off and i ended up losing to him by a car legnth to my surprise. The second run i decided to change my launch so i revved it up to about 6500rpm and ended up almost even with his car, i think i took him barely. The last run i launched at about 6700rpm, it was a perfect launch and i took him about a car legnth. Note all these runs was without nos.

Why is he racing if he's not using all of his power? Isn't that the point of getting more power (so you can use it)?

Either way, sounds fun - good runs.

My bro has a TL with comptech exhaust, AEM intake and OBX headers. The headers make a world a difference in the TL. Now he wants to add NOS...

If he didn't use nos, why is the topic titled CL-S w/nos.

Good runs, I guess...?

Do you realize that 2 car lengths is approximately .2 seconds in a 1/4 mile run? So what you're saying is that an 80 shot of NOS is only good for .15 seconds?

I ran a brand new Type S in my NSX and w/o NOS, I smoked him by probably 6-7 car lenghts to 100mph. With a 75 shot, I couldn't pull more than 1/2 a length to 120mph.

And then he adds headers and all the sudden he can beat you when he couldn't with NOS?

Dude, thats really fishy.

NAS, can you answer my question dude? How do you beat a car on an 80 shot by a car lenght or whatever and then lose to him by 2 car lenghts when he installed headers but didn't run the 80 shot????
